Vincenzo
Menghini followed his Bassoon studies at the “G.VERDI”
Conservatory at Milano with masters A. MONTANARI and E. MUCETTI,
both soloists at the “SCALA DI MILANO”. As a youngster,
he joins the “I SOLISTI DI MILANO”, under the conduction
of master C. ABBADO, performing at Paris, Vienna, Roma, Napoli,
Firenze, Milano, etc… as well as many diverse and prestigious
chamber groups as: “IL SESTETTO DI MILANO”, “OTTETTO
CLASSICO ITALIANO”, “OTTETTO DELLA R.A.I.”
of Torino and “QUINTETTO CLASSICO DELLA R.A.I.”,
performing with all of them at the most important Italian and
European cities.
From 1956 he becomes First Bassoon and Soloist of some of the
principal Italian orchestras:

ORCHESTRA DA CAMERA DI MILANO “ANGELICUM”
(1962-1968)
ORCHESTRA DA CAMERA “POMERIGGI MUSICALI”
of Milano (1968-1970)
ORCHESTRA NAZIONALE DELLA “R.A.I.” of
Torino (1970 – 1993)
ORCHESTRA LIRICA DELL’ARENA DI VERONA
ORCEHSTRA DEL FESTIVAL “BENEDETTI MICHELANGELI”
of Brescia
From 1970 performs as
soloist with the most prestigious Italian and European batons
as ABBADO, MUTI, ZEDDA, CILLARIO, GALLIERA, MARTINOTTI, ZECCHI,
GIULINI, OTWOSCH, KARAJAN, PRÊTE from many, performing
in absolute premieres as SERENATA for Bassoon and orchestra
from G.F. Malipiero.
He becomes, between 1970 and 1993, Professor of the “G.VERDI”
Conservatory of Torino, giving from his professorship the first
Bassoons and Soloists of the principal European orchestras:

P.Gedda ( Orchestra della R.A.I of Torino)
V.Zucchiatti ( Teatro alla Scala of Milano)
M.Russo ( Teatro San Carlo of Napoli)
M.Caratto ( Orchestra of Euskadi)
R.Giaccaglia ( Orchestra del Teatro alla Fenice
of Venezia)
A.Zucco ( Orchestra dell’Opera of Roma)
D.Zappone ( Orchestra Ciudad de Oviedo)
Recently, the editorial house “SCOMEGNA” has published
with great success his work for Bassoon the “18 ESTUDIES”.
Within his recordings, it can be found: the Symphony Concertante
of W.A.Mozart, as well as the integral of the Concerts for Bassoon
and Orchestra of A.Vivaldi, all of them recorded for “ARS
NOVA”.
Lately he has been invited as jury to access contests to several
orchestras as the Orchestra della R.A.I of Torino, the Orchestra
of Teatro alla Scala of Milano or the Orchestra of the Teatro
Massimo of Palermo.
